Mr Richard Baker
Mr Richard Baker is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Wexham Park Hospital in Berkshire specialising in hand and wrist surgery, correction of abnormalities in children and cosmetic surgery. Mr Baker qualified as a Doctor in 2000 after completing his medical studies at Cambridge University. He began his training in plastic surgery in 2003 in the London. In 2008 he was awarded a research MD for research into scarring. He was awarded his fellowship in plastic surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons in 2012. Mr Baker completed his training with fellowships in Reconstructive Cosmetic Surgery and Hand and Wrist Surgery culminating in the European Diploma of Hand Surgery (2014). Mr Baker has published numerous journal articles on plastic surgery. He was admitted to the specialist register in plastic surgery in 2016. His medicolegal practice is as an expert witness in personal injuries with particular focus on the hand and soft tissue injuries. This includes injuries to bones and ligaments within the hand and wrist; tendon, nerve and vascular injuries; pain syndromes, and scars throughout the body.
He also visited leading international units such as E’Da Hospital in Taiwan, the Kleinert Institute in Louisville and Santander in Spain.
He continues to teach trainee plastic surgeons and is committed to delivering a modern, evidence based and patient centred practice.
